A Platform Focused on Students, Educators, and Families
Prince George’s County Public Schools should be a source of pride for every family. That means putting students first, standing up for educators, working in partnership with families, and making sure every school is a safe, welcoming place for every student.
I am running for School Board because I believe public education should be equitable, honest, and responsive to the real lives of the families we serve.
-
Every decision made by the School Board should start with students and be guided by equity.
Center student safety, learning, and well-being in all policy and budget decisions
Balance strong academics with social and emotional support
Direct resources to students and schools with the greatest needs
Use data to close gaps, not explain them away
-
Every student deserves to learn in a building that is safe, healthy, and built for the future.
Fight for state and county funding for schools that have waited decades for replacement
Be clear with families about who controls construction funding and who does not
Support innovative funding approaches, including P3 projects with strong labor protections
Advocate for full implementation and full funding of the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future
-
Strong schools are built through shared leadership, trust, and accountability.
Strengthen authentic partnerships between school leadership and families
Ensure every school has a functioning School-Based Management Team so families and educators have a real voice in decisions
Ensure family voices, especially those often left out, are heard and respected
Hold the system accountable for following its own engagement policies
-
Getting to and from school safely should not depend on a family’s zip code.
Continue implementing the transportation audit to improve reliability and on-time service
Reduce dangerous traffic during arrival and dismissal
Advocate for safer walkways, crossings, and pedestrian infrastructure around schools
Expand electric buses to improve air quality and student health
-
Families deserve clarity, especially during disruptions.
Communicate early and consistently around school closures and cancellations
Be honest that in-person learning is essential, especially for younger students
Acknowledge the burden virtual learning places on families with full-time jobs
Recognize the size of the county and allow flexibility when schools are ready to open
-
Schools must be places where every student feels safe, seen, and supported.
Protect the dignity and safety of all students, including LGBTQ+ students and immigrant families
Fight to protect Concentration of Poverty Grant funding that is critical to more than 100 PGCPS Community Schools
Set clear expectations around AI and technology that protect student privacy, critical thinking, and human connection
Prince George’s County is home to extraordinary students, families, and educators. Our schools are strongest when they are safe, inclusive, and resourced according to need, not politics.
I am running for School Board to put students first, fight for equity, support educators, partner with families, and ensure every school
is a place where children can
learn, grow, and feel safe.
